Wanna hear about My Favorite Zaadzster? Rumor has it we may be the first couple to meet on Zaadz and subsequently marry. Is it true? Let us know!
Newsflash: Rob sprouts a pod! See Appropriate Transportation for details.
My original profile and still relevant capsule summary:
Just doing my best to live outside our culture, according to hard-earned beliefs, and seeking the rewards of companionship with others doing the same.
After ten days on Zaadz, I added this:
What an inspiring collective of friends and kin I find here! I was reluctant at first to extend friendship to other Zaadzsters - you know, that social-networking kind of friendship, the kind that appropriates statements like “She's not my friend, she's my Friendster.”
Yet here I am, a Zaadster for only ten short days, with as many friends as days on Zaadz. I can tell you why each of them are my friends, too.
A tribute to my first friends on Zaadz:
Peggy J, my ambassador, who answered my application within seconds yet not before taking time to relieve me of some cynicism.
Stu, whose levity is supported by far more than Photoshop.
Taogirl, with whom I share yoga, food, and a gorilla.
Littlefish, who wrote the most beautiful blog I've read yet.
Rahel, who proffered her friendship at precisely the same moment I was reading her profile, though I still wonder if it was coincidence, technology, or magic?
Kate, whose instructions for requesting friendship were as irresistable as her responses.
John, whose poetry, powerful presence and geographic proximity all contributed to my interest in him.
Matthew, whose delightful story of his name, and thoughtful creation of a fill-in-the-blank introductory form letter, caught my attention while browsing aimlessly, even after his offer of friendship nine days early slipped right past me!
Ami, beautiful Ami, who accepted my invitation not only of friendship but to join us all here at Zaadz.
And finally, Princess Annetta, whom I have known and loved since her conception and I suspect even before.
Already my Zaadz life is rich with friendship, and I gratefully but not greedily ask for more. As you, dear reader, review my profile would you consider offering your friendship?
Taking a cue from others, I offer simple instructions for becoming my friend. They are optional but encouraged. Here is a diagram you may complete:
I ask you to connect the dots by replacing each one with a word, picture or idea. At least four of them, forming a connection between us. Our shared interests, teachers, books or movies. Our close physical location. Our distinctness from each other and what we might learn from that. Our degrees of separation. A complete sentence connecting us, or a stream of consciousness in which we both splash.
Please note that I have no interest in a business relationship. Though I'm sure your wares are conscious and valuable, when I buy I prefer to find, rather than be found.
And lastly, please accept this gift, Rob's secret of happiness:
